Summer's favorite holiday is just around the corner, and if you're celebrating on The Emerald Coast, you're in for a boomin' good time! No matter where you choose to enjoy Destin's fireworks this 4th of July, you can guarantee a fantastic show!
Depending on where you stay during your vacation this Independence Day, oftentimes you can see a show directly from your balcony. The two biggest firework shows are at the Destin Harbor and Baytowne Wharf, so you might catch a show without the large crowds if you stay in these areas!
The fireworks show at HarborWalk Village is our personal favorite, in fact, Compass Resorts sponsors this spectacular show! This might be one of the more crowded places to catch the fireworks, but provides a fun and memorable experience! You can guarantee patriotic music to be playing throughout the Harbor, with live music and festivities for the full Independence Day effect! The Harbor will be THE spot to be so we encourage arriving early for parking, walking, or getting dropped off! Our favorite spot to watch them from is the boardwalk area by Jester's. The fireworks show starts at 9:00 pm.
Another popular spot for a spectacular fireworks show is Baytowne Wharf in Sandestin! This is an especially great place to catch fireworks if you have children, with tons of fun activities and play areas for them to enjoy. Similar to HarborWalk Village, it does get quite crowded here so you will want to arrive early for parking and be prepared for crowds. The fireworks show starts at 9:15 pm.
The Island is located between Destin and Fort Walton Beach, and is ideal for those staying on Okaloosa Island! The best place to catch this show is at The Boardwalk, and the great part about watching the fireworks from here is you're directly on the beach, and you can see the fireworks from the Destin Harbor as well! The fireworks show starts at 8:45 pm.
This is easily the most exciting way to view fireworks when visiting the Destin area! Visitors can do this by either renting a boat and anchoring out at Crab Island, or by hopping on a local firework cruise! This option makes for a memorable 4th of July!
